Dear Members,
Yes, at last, the Norris’s are leaving Broadwas to return to London and I wanted to bid you all a fond farewell. We are going back to London to be with our daughters and grandchildren.
When I first joined the club, I knew a few members but came across many I had never met before. One said “There are no strangers in this club, just friends you have yet to meet.” Never has a truer word been spoken – so many happy afternoons and delicious cakes….
I did not have the talent to be a serious player and the successes were too few to mention.
One exception: the win with dear Janet Bedford of the Barber doubles when she said “Two rules: do exactly as I say and don’t talk”. No jokes on that day, then….
I wish you all well and may the club continue to flourish.
